According to recent press releases, the company stated that the 2022 version would share no similarities with the previous generation cars – every feature would be fresh. However, there is an air of belief that the 2022 Tundra might finally compete with the other vehicles. In a bid to make a truck that offers the best driving experience, Toyota made a host of essential improvements to the vehicle compared to its previous generations. The 2022 Tundra comes with an overhauled frame, a new rear suspension, new power trains, and a modern, appealing interior design.
Toyota made a necessary improvement to its engines; instead of the Orthodox V8 engines, the new vehicle comes with two turbocharged V6 engines. This aids when towing another vehicle as the engines generate more torque than the previous versions.
The 2022 truck is also cost-efficient fuel compared to other vehicles and competitors. Instead of the previous leaf spring rear, it employs a modern coil spring to enhance on-road performance. The spring update means there are only three full-size trucks to have such updates.
One deficiency of the whole design is that the vehicle has a towing capacity of 12,000 pounds, which is less than the lowest full-size trucks in the market. However, it can be said that any deficiency has been covered with the high tail technological improvements made.
If you are looking to purchase the pocket-friendly 2022 Tundra, you are assured of getting an 8-inch touchscreen, and if you are looking at the luxury versions of the vehicle, you will get a 14-inch touchscreen.
Both touchscreen features have been upgraded; they are now high-resolution displays and respond to users’ commands quicker. However, the truck retains a wireless Apple car play and an Android Auto smartphone integration.
Upgrades were also made to the system to enhance voice recognition and house more languages and commands.
Toyota also announced that a hybrid V6 version would be available. It will be called I-Force Max.

Is the 2022 Tundra available?
As of December 2021, Toyota announced it had begun the production of the 2022 Tundra at the factory in San Antonio, Texas. According to reports, the vehicles should arrive at dealerships this month (January 2022). Toyota noted that only vehicles with the twin-turbocharged 3.4 liters V6 were manufactured in its announcement. All other models, such as the hybrid and hybrid TRD pro, will arrive at dealerships later this year.
What will the 2022 Tundra cost?
When Toyota announced its pricing for the non-hybrid vehicles, it was jaw-dropping, considering a couple of better full-size trucks are going for lesser prices. The 2022 Tundra is targeted at the loyal Toyota audience. Tundra SR, the first trim of the 3rd generation vehicles, has a start price of $37,644.
However, when a buyer opts for an improved version of the Tundra SR, the price shoots to $40,000. This means the requested improvement installed cost about $3,000. Tundra SR5 trim, the second third-generation vehicles, starts at $42,450. Customers are given the choice of an 8-inch screen or a 14-inch touchscreen.
The third trim of the series, Tundra Limited, starts at $50,595. The fourth trim, Tundra platinum, starts pricing at $58,685. The fifth trim of the series, which represents the ultimate luxury vehicle, Tundra 1794, starts pricing at $59,385. Note that these are all pricing for non-hybrid vehicles.
