Now that you’ve read all about Magneto, it’s time to learn how to set up your online store with it and maximize the platform.

1. How to Set Up Your Store on Magneto

First things first: sign up for an account with Magneto and choose a theme. You can even use free themes from the Magneto marketplace if you’re on a budget. We recommend choosing one of the premium themes because they have great features. Also, they come with standard functionalities, making them more accessible and faster to set up.

Once you have chosen a theme, add products in bulk by uploading CSV files or manually entering each product detail individually. Make sure to include relevant information like price and SKU number, so customers know what they’re buying when they purchase items from your shop through Magneto’s shopping cart system.

If needed, you can also add categories here before adding content, such as text descriptions and images for each product page available inside the storefront section. This is automatically pulled alongside each listing item every time someone visits your online store.

Magento allows for marketing and driving traffic to convert your online store. You can leverage its marketing extension tool on the platform to help you get more easily. Follow the process below to begin marketing your store:

  • Add a marketing extension to your catalog.
  • Set up an email marketing campaign
  • Use social media, blogs and content marketing to promote your magneto store
  • Facebook groups, pages, and groups. Join some of the Magneto groups on Facebook, and you can share content with other users. The more people who share it, the more exposure you will get for your store.
  • Twitter and Instagram are also good places to share content about your Magneto store with potential customers. You can get influencers in the industry who will be interested in seeing what you have to offer to share it with their followers.

4. How to Sell and Deliver

Once you’ve created the listing, you’ll need to collect payment from customers. To do this, go to your Catalog page and click on the product you want to sell. Click on the Orders tab and click “Collect Payment” at the top of your screen. This will bring up an order form with information about each customer’s order that can be copied into an email or printed shipping labels.

Once orders have been placed through Magneto, they need shipping info entered to be processed and shipped out as soon as possible. You can enter this shipping information by clicking on the “Orders” tab on your “Catalog page” and clicking “New Order.”

The first thing you’ll see is a table showing all of your orders sorted by the status of whether open or closed. You can click on any order on the list to see its details in another column at the right; here’s where we’re going to put our shipping addresses.

Clicking “Add Address” lets you select whether your customer wants their package shipped via UPS or USPS. If they don’t specify which service type they want, Magento, by default, will choose USPS Priority Mail Parcel Post. This should work for most orders but may not fit certain situations like large items needing extra protection during transit.

After specifying which carrier service type works best for each shipment destination address line item, keep adding lines until all have been accounted for.

What’s The Most Recent Version Of Magento, And What Does It Offer?

Magento 2.4 offers a lot of new features, and we will check a few out in this user guide:

PWA Studio

PWA Studio makes it easy for developers to build Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) for Magento 2 websites.

Native Multi-Source Inventory (MSI)

Use native MSI with several inventory management extensions from third parties to track inventory across multiple channels and sites in one place on your Magento Commerce Cloud store, all without interrupting your customer experience or risking data integrity issues that can occur with third-party tools that rely on scraping product prices from multiple sources.

Page Builder

Build dynamic custom pages using drag-and-drop components such as navigation menus, banners, testimonials, etc. In-Page Builder’s visual interface, you don’t have to code the HTML manually when you want a new page. You can also use pre-built modules like product grids to display products.

This works by using images alongside their original SKUs. For example, you can add a picture of your clothes instead of just the brand name. This helps improve conversion rates because people like seeing what they’re buying before purchasing it.
